Workshop Description

At this workshop we will explore and identify different types of birds with interactive games involving visual aids and sounds. Participants will gain an understanding of their importance and threats. Finally, we will explore ways to support wild birds and make bird seed and nut balls* that participants can hang outside. *Allergies: Please note the interactive activity will involve peanuts. Learning Outcomes: • Identify common garden birds. • Understand the role birds play in the ecosystem and their threats. • Learn to help wild birds and make seed and nut balls. At our workshops, we offer a range of duration and delivery options to suit your needs. Whether you prefer in-person sessions or online workshops, each option offers unique advantages. For instance, a 30-minute online workshop provides a solid foundation, covering the basics effectively. However, opting for a longer, 2 hour workshop enables deeper learning and allows us to accomplish more together. Choosing the extended option not only enriches your learning experience but also ensures we can delve into more advanced topics and incorporate, resulting in greater value. So, for a more comprehensive and in-depth session, we encourage you to consider the longer duration options. Prices: • €170 for a 45 mins Online Workshop • €220 for a 90 mins Online Workshop • €320 for a 45 mins In-person Workshop including bird seed ball materials • €370 for a 90 mins In-person Workshop including bird seed ball materials In-person Capacity: We can facilitate a group of maximum of 30 participants per in-person workshop. Alex Konieczka is an ecologist, holding a BSc. Natural Sciences, specialising in Environmental Science from Trinity College Dublin. Alex’s heritage, lifelong passion for sustainability and experience working as an ecologist in Ireland and abroad means she has immense understanding of this field, including first-hand experience of the challenges and ambitions of living in harmony with nature.

Alex is dedicated to building skills and a sense of agency in people through nature connections, capacity building, education and support. Alex cares about inclusivity and strives to make environmental education and nature experiences accessible to all.

 

Alex is a QQI L6 Certified Trainer and is Garda vetted. She is trained in First Aid and Child Protection.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation and rescheduling requests should be made to alex@understory.ie. The following conditions apply to cancellations: You will receive 100% return of the workshop or consultation fee, if you provide sufficient notice (i.e. not less than 5 working days.) You will receive 50% of the workshop or consultation fee if you notify us less than 5 working days but more than 48 hours prior to the commencement of the workshop. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund if the customer does not notify us of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to the commencement of the workshop or consultation.
